Supporting Student Use of Technology in the Days of Digital Natives: A Student Equity Perspective

Students at Long Beach and Sacramento City Community Colleges have created dedicated technology help teams that support student use of technology across their campuses. Although we may think of digital natives as successfully able to navigate their use of academic technology, the digital divide is still present and negatively impacting student success. Laura and Kandace describe their colleges’ Student Tech Help support mechanisms and suggest ways of institutionalizing such support structures to equitably meet students where they are at in their exposure to and experience with technology.
